After work today, I went to a friend's place to teach her son English.
The kid's in Primary 5 now and the English Exams are coming really soon. I gave him a little test. He was terrible; can't spell, don't even know the words actually, sentence structures' in a mess. Don't know whats was, or how its used.
God save this kid.
The worst thing is he can't sit still. He's almost like he's autistic; running around the house and refusing to sit down for the lesson. Not scared of the cane his mom whips out. He'd shout 'hit me lah, i not scared of pain' in cantonese... fuckin kid. If he was my son I'd gladly give it to him -.-;
But anyway, i'm planning to skip the books and do other things with him like roleplaying and stuff like that instead... hopefully it helps.

sounds like he needs a good ass-kicking. parents these days need to actually PARENT, and not try too hard to be their child’s "friend". all too often (at least here in the US), parents try to be very 'buddy-buddy' with their children and try to 'relate' to them, and 'sympathize' with them. i'm not saying that parents shouldn't be friends with their children, but for fucks sake... be a parent FIRST and their friend second.
you need a license to catch a fish, you need a license to shoot a deer and you need a license to drive a car, but any asshole with some sperm and an egg can have a fucking kid. I think they should require a license to have children. They should invent some sort of ‘temporary sterilization’ and administer it at birth. Until you get your ‘baby-making’ license, you can’t get the sterilization reversed. Once you get your license, “go forth and multiply”, but until that time, NO BABIES FOR YOU!!! Kind of takes care of unwanted pregnancies also, and negates the abortion issue.
Speaking of abortion, what are the laws regarding abortion over there? You’ll have to excuse my ignorance of your laws regarding such things. Also, where exactly are you?

I don't know if the ass-kicking would really help. I mean, how much pain would I need to adminster to make him do what I want him to? Would it even work/be effective? Afterall, my objective is to help him improve his English and his interest in it, not kill him... :\
On the other hand, there have been occations that I'd want to just stop tolerating his terrible behavior and attitude, give him one tight slap on his face and shout at him. He's just so spoilt; eats 4 meals a day with non-stop snacking, refuses to listen, beats his parents...etc.
...
I'm still trying to know more about this kid... hope I'd find a way to hold his attention during my lessons and instill a little discipline in him... :\

According to this webbie (http://www.reproductiverights.org/pub_fac_abortion_laws.html ), it states that: Women in Hong Kong may abort the child to preserve Mental Health, to save the woman's life or physical health.
In Singapore, no reasons are required but you may not abort the child beyond the Gestational limit of 24 weeks.
And...
I'm both a Singaporean & Hongkonger and I've lived in Singapore for about 10++ years.
Currently living in Hongkong now...
its not autistic.

I have one of them in my medical centre, and he never leaves me alone. haha.
