Never bet more than you are willing to lose. It is one of the codes I live by.

I talked to my father about the website that I want to open and all I get is a repeated message; study/work harder lah, you already isn't spending much effort in your work. With this kind of thing going on for you, you'll probably just spend even less efforts on work/study.

I gave up trying to convince him that his worries are unfound. He just can't be bothered with me. (I suspect it has something with his life element and mine; he's jin (金=metal/gold), while i'm shui(水=water). It is only natural that 'metal' shapes the way water goes, and not the other way round...similarly, he shapes the way i go and fixes my course near-permanently...).

On the other hand, some people have a business on their own which is already dying.
But these people are not having enough trouble with the current factory yet, so they are gonna open a new factory in some rural areas of China.
It will be built on a piece of arable land, which should be outright illegal by Chinese laws.
With 'paid-help' from corrupted high court officials, there will be no breaking of laws.
And what can be wrong when a person lacks something called conscience?

Looking at the plan, these people is going to get a 150% return out of the few hundreds thousand dollars that they are putting in. If they don't, they'd still earn by having the land under their name and leasing out to other people.

Sounds all too good right? So they signed the contract with the local village manager and local court officials, paid up a few years rent and 'other fees'. But after checking with a reputed mainland lawyer, they were told that the contract they have gotten is actually not valid in law. Whats going to be happen?

God help these idiots -_-;;;
